In a shocking incident late Saturday evening, Phoolchand, the distant cousin of BJP MLA Baburam Paswan, was reportedly beaten to death by a group of assailants in Udrah village, located under the Ghungchai Police Station area. This tragic event has left the local community in a state of fear and confusion.
According to authorities, the attackers launched an assault on Phoolchand’s home, throwing stones and attempting to abduct his minor granddaughter. In the chaos, Phoolchand and several family members were severely beaten. Eight individuals, including the 70-year-old victim, were taken to the Puranpur community health center for medical treatment. Unfortunately, Phoolchand succumbed to his injuries during his stay at the hospital.
Pilibhit Superintendent of Police, Avinash Pandey, confirmed the sad news, stating that the attack stemmed from a confrontation in the village. Following the incident, the victim’s family filed a formal complaint, which led to a murder case being registered against five suspects. So far, two of the accused have been arrested by local authorities.
